Product Description

The earliest used oil is animal and plant oil, its cooling capacity is weaker than water, but still has enough cooling capacity, and the oil temperature rise has little impact on the quenching capacity, is a more ideal quenching medium. Due to the price and raw material source restrictions, the industry uses mineral oil, such as 0# diesel, 10#, 20#, 30# mechanical oil. Mineral oil with different viscosity, flash point of its cooling capacity is different, the use of temperature is also different. Due to its slow cooling rate, it is not easy to harden carbon steel and low alloy steel with large cross-section, and the surface of the material is easy to stain, and the use has certain limitations. In order to improve the cooling capacity of the oil, methods such as appropriately increasing the oil temperature (usually adjusted in the range of below 80 ° C), strong stirring cycle and adding additives can be used. Additives such as sodium sulfonate, barium sulfonate, calcium sulfonate, calcium naphthenate, etc., are added to the oil. During quenching and cooling, the additive adheres to the surface of the workpiece to become a particle forming a steam bubble, so that the stable steam film is not easy to form, and the cooling capacity of the high temperature area is improved. In addition, adding heat stabilizer and ash-free surfactant to the light oil and the quenching oil extracted by solvent refining can make the workpiece quickly soaked by oil film without deposition of carbon black on the surface after quenching, so that the surface of the workpiece after quenching is bright and clean, this oil is called "bright quenching oil". In addition, the addition of surfactants in mineral oil can make the metal quenching uniform, and is conducive to the cleaning of mineral oil after quenching. For example, 2% to 5% non-ionic emulsifier such as nonylphenol polyoxyethylene (6) ether is added to mineral oil for quenching, and the mineral oil can be removed by rinsing metal products with water after quenching. 
Water-based quenching liquid
Water is the most economical quenching medium. It has high chemical stability and large heat capacity. However, the cooling capacity of pure water in the high temperature zone is not strong, and the cooling capacity near 300 ° C is very large, therefore, the cooling characteristics of pure water are exactly the opposite of the characteristics of the ideal quenching medium we require, which is why pure water is rarely used. Commonly used water-based quenching fluids are brine, alkali water, saturated calcium chloride, nitrate aqueous solution (NaNO3, NaNO2, KNO3), organic polymer aqueous solution and so on.
